During this appointment, you will meet with a member of our aesthetics team who will examine the area of your skin that you are looking to improve and discuss what your goals are from the treatment. They will also ask you about your medical history, during which time you should be completely honest to prevent any unnecessary risks or side effects.
The different outcomes of each level of chemical peel will be explained and your provider will recommend which option would be best for your situation. If you agree with the treatment plan that they create for you, you will be able to have your first Chemical Peel session after your consultation. If you need to come in another day for any reason, our Guest Relations Specialist will help set up that appointment.
What to Expect on the Day of Chemical Peels
When you come into our Med Spa for your Chemical Peel, your skin will first be thoroughly cleaned and your technician will apply one or more chemical solutions to small areas of your skin, creating a controlled wound and letting new skin take its place.
Most patients will feel a mild burning sensation that lasts about five to ten minutes, followed by a stinging sensation. When the process is complete, the technician will apply cool compresses to your skin to help ease the stinging.
The ingredients in the peel work to gently blister the very top layers of skin which then peel off over a number of days. By doing this, new skin is revealed which tends to be smoother, brighter, and more even.
